Tambobo Bay is a quiet place away from a big city surrounded by greenery. Most cruisers come here to enjoy the lack of noise and the green shores.
If you decide to stay and if you want to continue to enjoy Tambobo Bay, we strongly advise you to abide by the following principles:
- Avoid spilling any diesel, oil or other chemicals at all cost. The Bay is an environmentally sensitive place.
- Dispose of your garbage at one of the piers.
- Do not anchor in the middle of the mooring area, especially during periods of strong winds.
- Before using a buoy, inquire with the owner at one of the piers. Some buoys are private or rented long term and should not be used.
- Do not start your portable generator at night, especially when close to other boats. There is plenty of time during the day to charge your batteries.
- Tambobo Bay is a small extent of water with shores made mostly of mangroves and there are often small bangkas fishing in the Bay, day or night. Avoid racing with your dinghy through the moorings at excessive speed. 5 kts is a reasonable measure enforced in most western countries. Please use the same standard in the Philippines. At night be even more careful!
- Avoid having loud drunken parties until late at night.
