Anchoring
Although it is possible to anchor outside the mooring field at the end of the channel, we do not recommend to stay at anchor other than for a short time allowing to find an available mooring.
The sea bottom is made up of very soft mud and any anchor will have difficulties to hold with stronger winds. See Weather
The picture shows two recommended anchoring areas within the bay.
During the typhoon season, winds can gust in excess of 50 knots and every year some boats are leaving their mooring to end up in the mangrove.
Moorings
Tambobo Bay has a number of moorings belonging to the owners of the piers on the northern shore of the bay. Some other moorings are private. They are not identified, so it is difficult to know which one belongs to whom.

Upon arrival, please drive with your dinghy to one of the piers (red/yellow dots) to enquire about the availability of moorings.
The mooring blocks are around 2 to 2.5 metric tons dry and are fit for boats with a maximum gross weight of 10-12 metric tons.
We highly recommend that you check on the state of the mooring gear or ask the owner, especially if you plan to stay for a longer period.
